In this part of the Making of 'So What!' I'm going to reflect on some of the decisions made in designing the spreads for telling Daisy's story.
Lissy's Effect On Daisy
Daisy is really being hit hard by Lissy. All Daisy wants is acceptance from her friends and all she gets dismissal.
Below are some way's I've shown Lissy's powerfully negative effect on Daisy visually:
At the start of the story Daisy lacks confidence and feels very alone |
Lissy visually overpowering Daisy. |
Daisy being surrounded by Lissy and her goons. |
Daisy's Imagination
Because of the effect on Daisy she regularly escapes from real life into her imagination. She dreams about what she could have told Lissy, each fantasy more crazy than the last. From a camel with 6 humps to an Alien invasion.
Ultimately, I wanted Daisy’s imagination to be a beautiful place, where she is at the forefront.
All these scene culminate to a the big finale!
But you’ll have to buy the book to see that bit!
